Last week was the 30th Anniversary of the Mt St Helens eruption. I was in Augusta, Georgia for the week attending a conference so I missed it. The link below goes to a Columbian newspaper story that was done about me and the search and rescue effort on the 25th anniversary. The Columbian re-published the story for their anniversary celebration.
Working amid devastation The Columbian
Tomorrow many of the old timers from Lewis County are getting together for lunch to remember the eruption. Many of these people I haven't seen since the 25th anniversary so it will be interesting to see how we are all doing.

About time you put up a new post!

HOly cow, a new post! Let me take a moment to recover from the shock!
That's cool that the old timers still get together to commemorate the event.
I was going to comment a couple of weeks ago that if you wait long enough your post would be current, Merry Christmas 2010! I remember hearing about you and the search and rescue efforts after the eruption. I was living in Chicago and a day or so later I had a fine layer of ash on my car.
